Block X · Content production at scale · Lesson 56

Videos in series without being there

You'll learn to create videos from templates and code, to make automatic clips for social media and add subtitles to them, all connected to a workflow that runs on its own.

What you'll see in this lesson

  1. Three ways to mass-produce videos

Code templates, API templates or automatic clips from a long video: choose based on your team and your volume.

  2. Remotion: the video is a web page

Each video is a React component; you pass it the data as "props" and Remotion turns it into an MP4 frame by frame.

  3. Remotion's license: free… up to 3 people

Remotion is free, commercial use included, if you're self-employed, a company of up to 3 people or a nonprofit.

  4. Shotstack and Creatomate: templates via API

You design a template with placeholders, send the data in a JSON and get back the MP4 link when the render finishes.

  5. Automatic clips for social media

Opus Clip analyzes a long video, picks the moments with a hook, converts them to vertical and adds animated captions.

  6. Captions with Whisper, free and local

whisper.cpp transcribes audio on your computer and generates an SRT file with timings that FFmpeg or Remotion overlay on the video.

  7. The workflow that runs on its own

n8n takes the data, writes the script, adds the voice, renders, captions and leaves the video as a draft for your approval.

  8. Keep it from breaking or overspending

An unattended workflow needs error alerts, spending caps and a sample reviewed by a person.

  9. Summary

Fixed design, variable data, automatic rendering and free captions: series videos with a workflow that runs on its own.
